ABANDONED: A Ski Documentary

Watch this Sneak Peek of ABANDONED, and don't forget to check out our Indiegogo Campaign

We are The Road West Traveled, a crew of outdoor enthusiasts who followed their passion for skiing on a journey back in time. Join us as we explore Colorado’s forgotten ski areas, and document their stories. We need your support to help bring their history to life before it fades into the mountainside along with their crumbling infrastructure. This is our first major film project, and we couldn’t be more excited to see our vision come to life on the screen.

What is Abandoned?

The film will tell the story of Colorado ski areas that have been closed and forgotten over the years. These places play a significant role in Colorado’s rich ski history. Through captivating interviews with former owners and skiers we begin to get an idea of what it was like to ski at these places in their heyday. In addition, we take a look at what these places look like today through the experiences of backcountry skiers who use these fading ruins as their own personal playgrounds.

What is the Current Status of the Film?

Despite not meeting our goal through our Indiegogo campaign we still are moving forward with the project.  We were out visiting abandoned ski areas all winter filming and gathering interviews. We are currently in post-production, with a goal of releasing the film in the Fall of 2018.
